Berytech was created by the Saint-Joseph University in 2001 to be the first technological pole in Lebanon and the region that provides a conducive environment for the creation and development of innovative startups, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and hi-level skills. Berytech grew from one technology pole in 2001 to a second one in 2007, to a third center in 2013, and the creation of the first 6M$ venture capital fund for Lebanese technology startups in 2008. . In 2015 Berytech Fund 2 and IM Capital were launched. Berytech Fund 2’s mission is to invest in early growth Lebanese companies whose business is in almost any field in exchange for equity ownership. With over USD51 million under management, the Fund focuses on technology companies (and others) in Lebanon
with proven commercial viability.
Several entrepreneurial activities are managed by Berytech: Incubation Awards, entrepreneurship contests, summer schools & regional academies for entrepreneurs, “from idea to startup” courses to engineers, Micro-Entreprise Acceleration Programs, university roadshows, local & international exhibitions & workshops, Entrepreneurs Forums, startup-weekends, mentoring programs, networking events, lunch-debates with key stakeholders, etc. To date, Berytech housed a repertoire of more than 200 entities, assisted more than 2,000 entrepreneurs in the several outreach programs, disbursed more than 500k$ in grants to startups, and is investing more than 70M$ in Lebanese innovative and technology companies. It was the first in the region to receive the EU accreditation as a Business Innovation Center (EU BIC label in 2006), opening up access to its companies to international networks. In 2012, Berytech launched the Beirut Creative Cluster (BCC) grouping more than 50 leading companies in the MultiMedia industry, which was awarded by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA) the European Bronze Label for Cluster Management Excellence

Ramy Boujawdeh has a Master's Degree in Management and Economics from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Greece and a Bachelor in Agriculture Engineering from the American University of Beirut. He has practical experience in change
management and ISO Management Systems certification and implementation in the private sector. Ramy oversees the incubation and business support programs of Berytech and the 3 tech poles, He is a certified Growthwheel business coach and an angel investor, He is currently fulfilling the role of Deputy General Manager for Berytech.
Krystel Khalil has a Master degree in marketing, and is currently the Head of Communication and Outreach for Berytech Group Companies, responsible to lead the group communication strategy and develop outreach entrepreneurial programs. Krystel developed an extensive experience in program development and implementation, from which EU funded regional projects, tackling various innovation areas including technology, social & women entrepreneurship, innovation management, sustainable energy and more. She runs communication, marketing and roadshow activities to promote entrepreneurship on the local and international level, while assisting entrepreneurs in marketing strategy and capacity building. In parallel, she gives university lectures in marketing research and entrepreneurship. Prior to that, she developed an extensive experience in marketing and research in various technology fields including new media and ICT.
